Scam warning

Forums

Beware of a scam operating via our forum.

I posted a "Wanted" advert for some mudguards for my Model 18 and received an email from a certain Luigi Cennamo from Spain offering me just what I wanted.

I asked for further details, price, condition and a picture of the parts.

Within an hour I received a positive response together with details of how to pay ... Western Union ... this sounded a few alarms.

I then looked at the attached photo and low and behold, what did I see ... a picture of my very bike, not a simialr one, but MY bike!

Please be on your guard.

Regards

Ian

It's not the first time. I received several scam emails responding to my request for a CS-1 frame. When I had a UK friend ring the supplied number offering to pay and opick up the frame personally, all contact ceased.

I put out a request for parts for a lightweight, and I received a fair few offers which didn't look real. The postal addresses were obviously very fake - Mapquest is your friend.
