Roadster tank India

Forums

For what it is worth. Have 1970 Roadster 750.

Ethanol eats tanks. Even Brexit will not get us an ethanol free fuel i suspect. Had to get steel tank. Secondhand all smacked up and expensive.

Got Roadster tank already in black so no surface rust problem, with cap, from beetle2015 item like 162302387060.

Got done £63 this end by Parcelforce and Customs.

Very well packed, so was no damage. Cap is heavy and spot on. Tank is made with toolings, so not hand bashed into variable shape and size. No leaks. Fits. Right shape. They do steel side panels on toolings as well, but my right hand one is the rare mirror image of left, so will just get originals fibreglass repaired.

Paint finish could be higher gloss of course, but will have side panels painted and top coat to tank to match. Put own proper decals on, and lacquer. Some of their decals and coach lines can be dodgy.

Will put up pic when done.

If its made by the same guy who does the Interstate from tooling then it should be good.

Have you got any pics yet, particularly underside, of how it looked when it arrived?

The emgo roadster tanks are supposed to be very good, even have a baffle inside. despite the huge range of cheap and cheerful product, emgo is a difficult company to find distributors of.

The Emgo Roadster tanks are readily available on ebay. Tap Norton Commando tank in (UK only or there is hundreds) the price , for exactly the same tank ranges from £225 to @ £259,eg available from BSA 111 , a big ebay seller. They just aren't advertised as Emgo producte.

I bought one and the quality is great, no leaks, baffled , and Ceandess cap fits properly (not included)

I had previously bought an Indian tank from Parts paradise, and it was also very good and a lot cheaper, just that the steel used is simply not as good as the Emgo.

I've just realised I have an account with an emgo distributor that already do indicators, mirrors and maltese cross rear lights etc. so I'll tap them up and see if they can get tanks.
