Is it possible to reverse the gear selection on a right foot shift Commando to 1st down and the rest up, as you can on certain Triumphs by reversing the gearbox camplate. NB I know it's easily done be fitting rear sets and a reverse gear lever, but that's not whatI want.

It's hypothetical at the moment, but soonI will be looking for a Mk3 Roadster in excellent shape, but failing thatI will get an earlier one and sort the gear orientation, now I know it can be done.

I did mean to add, if anyone knows where thereis a Mk3 Roadster in really good condition (I just don't want to strip another bike) for sale I would be very interested.

Yes, there used to be reverse camplates out there for just this purpose although I haven't seen one lately. From the way they are put together it looks as if you could drive out the centre and replace it the other way round although I have never done this myself. Try it on a spare one if you are worried about wrecking the original. I have one lying around somewhere if you don't.
