Pressure Release Valve Wanted

Forums

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me find some parts I need to finish my engine rebuild. The parts I need are the pressure release valve and filter assemblies that fit inside my timing cover. The year of the engine is a 1958. I have attached an image of the parts I need.

I have already tried Norvil, RGM, Andover, Russell Motors and the NOC Spares and the internet, but have had no luck apart from NOC who have the external nut which I've ordered.

If anyone has any ideas where I could buy these parts from I would appreciate that very much.

Hi Mike I'm not sure where I could get the part numbers from as the only parts book I have is from Norvil and they only list the earlier ones, but if you could send me the name and number of your Norton parts supplier I could contact them and explain the parts I need. Hi Campbell I have contacted RGM and they only supply the earlier pressure release valve and not the one for my 1958 model. All the best Peter

Peter:

I did a further search and have found the following:

NM20286 Spring $0.95 ea

NM20285 Plunger $1.13 ea

According to their website they are available at:

Raber's Parts Mart in San Jose, CA

www.rabers.com

If you cannot find them anywhere else, look them up and send them an email to make sure that they still have them on hand.

Mike

p.s. This is the largers British Parts Supplier in the San Francisco Bay Area and I would consider them to be very reputable.

Also, have you tried finding the parts you need at a breakers?

Hi Peter, I have a spare cover of the same type and its probably complete ,Better to have new parts but if you get stuck I will try to help.

Hi Robert not sure what to do now I read on the NOC pages that the type of oil cover I have has had problems which is why Norton went back to the old design after 4 years. It may be worth me buying a timing cover with the old/new oil release valves. I'll look into this a bit more. Robert thanks very much for the offer I may still take up your kind offer. Regards Peter

Hi Peter ,I have found my spare timing cover which is complete, how are you getting on with your quest for the valve parts?

Hi Robert not much luck apart from dealers I have tried eBay and the last Kempton Park meet, it was bit of a wash out but no luck. I have bought another timing cover with the external valves. So I think I will fit that timing cover. Sorry to have messed you about but thanks for all your help. All the best Peter.
