Evening,
In my case it looked like someone tried to remove the screw with a dull chainsaw. Already beyond re-use I warmed up the cover a bit and turned the screw out using a large slot screwdriver. It clearly had been punched in place on several occasions. The good news is the cover is not damaged so once I find a replacement screw/spring/ball I should be good to go.
My email to Russell Motors bounced back. Anyone know their correct email address? Or perhaps they decided the Internet was a fad that would fade away? I used: spares@russellmotors.co.uk.
Cheers from Halifax,

Hi,
Both of these are availiable from :Russell Motors - 125-127 Falcon Rd, London SW11 2PE, United Kingdom. +44 20 7228 1714
I purchased then just 2 momths ago. The spring is from the competetion engine, and will need 2 turns out. rather than the 1.5 for the std spring.
