Paint Model 99 Petrol tank Gray and removal of liner

Welcome to the club Hugh, I cant help you with your paint colour, but I am sure some of our more knowledgeable members will sort the problem for you re- colour.

I have a slimline model 50, and I think the paint is called dove grey, but to me it more like a cream!.............does your bike have the original paint? or in the past has it been re-painted. I like the idea of your tank clean.....very inventive...........once again welcome

I cant think of any Norton that had dove grey as a primary tank colour,it was used on DL bikes below the badges and for frames, oil tank, mudguards . Some Std twins 59,60 also used Dove this way.

Its a slimline ANNA. no your right ,the second post about dove is the slimline!. I have a sample of orriginal dove grey and it is very grey, drab really , not nice at all. better to pick something more grey-white.

hello well up top he states he as a wide-line, anyway I have just mixed up a batch of polychrome grey in cellulose, so anyone needs me to do a mix for you paint job then email me, I only use Cellulose paints for plan solid colours you can use synthetics as the Norton workshops did back in the 20s 30s 40s 50s 6os so its still doing a good job, yours anna j
