Norton Buyout Rumours

This was posted by Stuart this afternoon on the AccessNorton website:

Dear all,Just to clear up a few points on here recently;I am NOT selling Norton to anyone, Mahindra or otherwise! The Norton team are doing an exceptional job, it's taken years of hard work from all of us to get Norton back on it's feet. We are entering an exciting time for Norton with a really nice refined Commando MK II and Dominator motorcycle, BOTH WILL be Euro 4 compliant in coming months. We are finally getting on top of dealers, service, warranty and I hope all the 961 owners can see we are here to stay and putting a much greater effort into ensuring our after sales service and technical help is up to the mark. I'd like to thank everyone that's stayed with us and also offer my apologies for any inconvenience caused with dealer/part delays. We are about to launch the all new Norton V4 motorcycle, the bike looks amazing in the factory and the whole team are excited for the public reveal at the UK bike show 19th Nov 2016. I do read all your comments on here and pleased that Simon is able to answer all technical issues for owners and help out where necessary as a direct link to the factory. It's a pleasure and privilege to work at Norton and bring the brand back, although nothing is easy, particularly in engineering and manufacturing a motorcycle! Myself and all at the factory really do appreciate your support and love for the brand which has given us all the opportunity to see Norton back in motorcycle production once more. Best RegardsStuart GarnerNorton Motorcycles

Having been privileged to have visited the factory, meet Stuart and tour the whole facility, I can only say that I was tremendously impressed by the whole operation, the commitment of the workforce and the integrity of the product. I have every confidence it will go from strength to strength.

Great to know that Stuart takes an active interest in the NOC forum.

I have read the ridiculously worded statements emanating from India about Mahindras plans. Which are by any stretch of the imagination very misleading. I have also read Stuart Garners posting on Accessnorton.

I wonder if he hasn't posted on here due to the abuse that he received from some NOC members about his products, company, finances and service. I know a lot of people who are not NOC members but do read this message board, and inhabit others, who were amazed at thenegativity shown by the NOC contributors(albeit perhaps only a small number of members). Indeed some suggested that I must find it embarrassing to belong to a club that appeared on the face of it to be so anti-Norton.

There are many views about what makes a Norton I know, but as we even have members who do not own a Norton (remember the club name here chaps)and who may even attend branch meetings, the thought of notliking the new company and its productsis a complete mystery to me. Perhaps Stuart feels the same way. I know there is dialogue between the Executive Committee and Stuart but perhaps as a club we should be closer to him and his company.

Good to read that Mr Garner intends to continue his struggle to improve every aspect of his reincarnation of the unapproachable Norton. A good but not to close relationship between Donington and NOC will benefit both best. I'm impressed of the progress of the IoM bikes and would like to read more about it. Remembering the 30M and 40M number of DNFs and the struggle to compete with the italian multis at the TT, I think they do a great job now.

P.s Think of how much complaints and abuse there would be if internet existed back in fifties and sixties.

I agree. I believe the company make a room available for the NOC executive meetings at Donnington Hall too, so there should be a close liaison between the two.
