Hi Everyone,
On the rebuild of my 1943 Norton 16H, I have had to create a new wiring loom as it was non-existent when I got the barn find. It is a 6Volt system with a solid-state reg inside an old reg box.
The photos attached show the Reg used and the way I have created the wiring loom (please ignor the colours as I have used what I had available). The lights all work and I have a good spark when I kick it over although she is not ready to start yet.
I need advise about the battery. I charge it up and it hold charge when not connected, but when connected it drains off over night. Is this normal or should it hold some charge and if so have I done something silly in the loom??
I just can't work it out?
Any help would be great
Many thanks
Nigel

Hello I have had this problem when using the wassel regulator and changing the wiring of the dynamo. I bought a different regulator (available on ebay) where you don't have to change the dynamo wiring and that worked well and didn't drain the battery. The spark will not be affected by anything to do with the charging system as that is generated by the magneto completely separate.
