This is disgusting, look at the mess and a Norton on its side! What about CCTV and burglar alarms? This wasn't just theft, it is criminal damage. Let's hope the culprits are caught and given a long stretch....Some how I doubt it.

Bad news as it is but thanks for reporting this, Anna.

Those trophies are probably by now in ingot form and proceeds from the crime on its way back to some eastern European state.

We called in there yesterday on the way back from the IoM. everything had been tidied up, and a chap was sitting at a table cleaning loads of trophies, so whether they have got them back, or these were left by the thieving scrotes, I don't know. It does beg the question about how they got in, though. First the fire, now this.....?

Obviously bagheads after a quick payout, there is a lot of far more valuable, and unfortunately, quite easily fencable stuff in there, it's a good job that they don't know what a GP carb or TT mag would fetch, or that poor Manx would be in a far worse state than just lying on its side, I hope the NMM security mark the bike components, and tighten things up, or it is only a matter of time, given their obvious lack of security....

So the Burglar Alarm is as good as the Fire Alarm.

yes they both have bells ! this not just this museum that a target for thieves they go anywhere there a quick quid or two, so your sheds or garages or workshops are all targets too, be very weary on who is watching you, or who it following you , on your Norton , Do take a alarmed lock with you every were you ride , lock IT before you leave your motorcycle, as you may never see it again , theft is on the rise, your motorcycle maybe next, my one as been stolen and recovered by a quick police team in this area, The police know my Norton Manxman , so its now even harder to steel , make your garage or workshop or shed as secure as possible and put obstetrical in the way this slows them down and gives you time too respond , CCTV in your garage or work shop or shed can make a big difference, I work in security that my job now, the Crook lock round the back Shocks and a good lock will stop most thieves, but ground anchors are the best for over night, too lock your motorcycle too do not leave your machine unlocked

you have all now been warned Clunk Klick LOCK IT!! yours Anna J

"and put obstetrical in the way" conjures up an alarming (ho ho) vision.

Well, I'm married to a midwife, and she once chased a burglar up the street in a very scary fashion when we lived in Preston, so perhaps it would indeed work...

I think what happened at the NMM and our own home / Norton security are all very relevant.

Let's hope the boys in blue find out who did this and then it might be relevant to hold that debate with regard to this crime and general motorcycle related theft.

The fact that valuable Norton's were left and what looked like trophycabinets raided instead points to local chavs in my opinionbut who knows? These were not bike thieves by the look of it.
