Hello fellow norton nut's
Just joined the owners club today as i done a deal recently and am now the proud owner of a very nice WD 16H
Over all the bike is in great condition and just a few little jobs to do which i will attend to over the coming winter, one of these is the classic it seems leaky gearbox so i am sure there will be plenty of questions from me in the future. lots to learn not to mention until today i did not own a whitworth spanner think i will need a extra tool box
Also i the recondition dynamo to refit so plenty to keep me busy.
Little about myself.
I am 39 years old and live in south hertfordshire, I have grown up around vintage and veteran cars and bikes most of my life due to my late uncle paul folkes halbardbeing a avid collector and dealer in cars and bikes for many years. later he opened amuseum called Filching manor motormuseum. i always admired some of the old bikes he had in his collection but i knew more about the cars because i could get a ride out in them which is much more fun.
Some info on the my bike
It is a 1945 Ex navy machine which would have been painted royal blue is was decommissioned in 1953.
it was fully rebuilt and restored in the early 80's and built to what seems to be standard civi spec, some of the history that came with the bike points at the owner was trying to fit a side car but it's not clear if he did manage to source all the parts needed.
regards
duncan
note to self gear change is on the right brake on the left, dam those japs for corrupting me haha
