Hi all, Canada calling. I am in the process of restoring a 1953 model 7, and am at the stage of needing pistons. The barrels have been re-sleeved to standard, but what pistons to use with an iron head? I found some 6.7's std on Red Lizard but can't get through to them by either e mail or returned message. It seems only 88 higher compression pistons are available. Can anyone let me know if these pistons can be used, and if not what pistons can be used.
Many thanks. Tony Cording

Hi I rebuilt a 1954 Model 7 and fitted standard JP pistons with no issue make sure you get the piston to bore clearance correct. Get each piston checked against the relevant bore for the correct clearance, ensure good honing is done if required. All this done you shouldât Have any problems.

hello Now has for Model 7 piston's These were Hepilex piston's that were made to expand has they had a stronger boss and the back of the piston had a slot cut in at an slanted angel , so when they got hot it gave the piston skirt more control and less rocking action inside the bore, known as piston slap!! these were a compression ratio of 6:7:1 as there where pool petrol still on the go back then I still have a set at 60 over size but there out there and if you look hard you find them even standard ones, can be found , the aftermarket ones the best out of these are JP pistons are a very close copy made in Australia try Thornton pistons on line now all the best yours anna j
