Any ideas on setting up Mk 2 concentrics for a 850 with PW3 camshaft and fairly open exhaust ?

Hi Barry, I replied a couple of days ago but for some reason it hasn't appeared. so here goes again. If the cylinder head has not had any porting or larger valves fitted then a good place to start would be the same jetting as used on the Mk 1 Amals. ( the main jets are not interchangeable) there are two places for the pilot jet to be fitted on the Mk 2 carb, either in the bottom of the float bowl or under the body. You might google a tuning guide for the Mk 2 carb they are readily available and Hitchcocks the Royal Enfield dealer have some info on their website. I wouldn't expect to see a great improvement in performance with the Mk2 carbs but they are better made and rubber mounted. Let us know how you get on.

Hi David, thanks for the tips, I have a pair of carbs not single, I picked up some NOS 30mm mk II as I have a 30mm head and best of all they were the right price, I wanted to use them as they are rubber mounted and have the cold start device as opposed to the tickler. I'll start with the settings as the mk I uses, once again thanks for the words of wisdom.
