Can anyone tell me the width of the pinstripes on a typical Manx tank and also what colour the red stripe is please?
I am probably going to use One Shot paint and their colour chart is;

Can anyone suggest which red is the best match - Fire Red perhaps?
Thanks
Colin

English bike, English pain…
English bike, English paint!....why not tryhttp://craftmaster.myshopify.com/collections/liningKeep's has gone (beautiful red lead based) so anything is a compromise.Originally it was brush work so 'thin' is the value...if your hand and eye is steady enough. With long, slender brush.I cheated and used a Beuglar lining pen with No. 73 roller and it looks fine to me. (3/32" or 2.3mm quoted width).With magnetic strip template.

thanks David - I will definitely look at Craftmaster. I have used their coach enamel (fantastic paint) but didn't realise they did lettering enamel. I have requested a colour chart from them but do you have any thoughts on which red to choose?

Now it's all personal opinion - all I can say is I'd go for their 'bright red'. But I used some new old stock Keep's. Paint has been degraded by H+S (like everything else...) so fingers crossed.

Colour chart arrived today…
Colour chart arrived today (and I picked up my Beugler tool)- Bright red looks good. I am going to order some paint and have a go with this on a 'spare' tank - I will post the results (assuming that they are not too embarassing!).
Thanks for all your advice

George Cohen has some comments on Norton tanks. Have a look at points 9,10 and 11.
