Hi. A friend of mine is building a cafe racer using a Manx frame. There are no identifying marks on the frame, he believes this was normal is that correct? I can see he may have problems when he comes to register the bike and may only be able to get a Q plate.
Regards Peter
Mine does....

Manx frame.
Hi Peter,
Is your friends frame a modern replica? I use the word modern loosely as these have been made for more than 25 years by various small companies.
Jon,
The 10 and 11 are the other way round, which is opposite to 30 and 40, which is a bit confusing.

Same location as any F/bed LH gusset above the swing-arm position. Should be a 10M (500) 11M (350).All factory frame a will have a "B.O.D." on the edge of the fillet at top of head stock. Replacement factory frames may not have a standard frame marking but something on the head stock relating to it being a spare part (like a part no).
How does he identify it as Manx?
Cheers
