Lucas N1 magneto question - probably a dumb one 
All bikes in the shed sorted â? so just sorting out an old Lucas N1 magneto that was on the shelf.
After a bit of TLC I now have a good spark.
However, I notice that when rotated it passes through a âstiffâ phase.
Would I be correct to assume that this is as the armature passes the magnets or could it be a dry bearing?

Got it sorted
Upon closer inspection I noticed that the cam plate was slightly corroded on the incline of the ramp causing undue friction.
