Insurance issues and spam

Dear Members,

I recently changed insurers for my three Norton motorcyles both the former and new companies currently advertising in the Club magazine. Not more than a day later I found the spam number of my .personal e-mail account increasing rapidly and some were able to by-pass the spam filter of my e-mail provider. The majority of these spam e-mails were from insurance providers and PPI lawyers.

Have any other members experienced this? Do these insurance providers "sell" my e-mail address and has anyone found an effective method of countering this rubbish?

Perhaps the Club could make it a condition of advertising that e-mail addresses are not passed on if my assertion proves to be true?

Regards,

Peter Bolton
