Gearlever

Does anybody know where I can get a gearchange lever to suit a Laydown gearbox. Any help appreciated.

No. Is the short answer. I was unable to find one for mine. The upright gearbox has the same splines on it so I used a lever for one of them and shortened it in the end, then had to get it replated.

Hi mike, I have a couple of NOS short levers spare, no idea if correct though!.

Thanks Mike and Robert. The part no. is D12/406 .The shaft measures 19.6mm in diameter and has 40 splines. Any lever with the correct splines would suit as I can modify it to suit

I found upright/dolls head levers a lot easier to get hold of. Either new repro ones or old ones at jumbles and on eBay.

A bit of caution is needed , The splines do not always match up. Don't know if they changed with the move to AMC Woolwich production , but new "Norton" ones I have bought don't fit my Bracebridge built bike.so I have continued with my old parts.

Thelater AMC ones are different. But if you go for an earlier upright or dolls head lever it should fit.

Hi All

I am still on the lookout for a Gearlever for a Laydown gearbox, but please only reply if you actually have one to sell.

Yours Sincerely
