Gearbox mainshafts

I am in the process of helping clear out a load of bits and pieces for a friend who sadly passed away recently, I have a box full of upright and dolls head gearbox parts (and a couple of complete boxes). In amongst it all are a few mainshafts stamped with the numbers N8030. When I type this part number into RGMs website it comes back as being for a pre AMC International and being 9 5/16 long. However these shafts are just under 9'' long, this would imply they are pre AMC ES2, Model 18 etc. Which both RGM and the parts book shows have number A2/324.

I am trying to sell all these bits for the family but it would be easier if I know what I have. Any ideas? It will all be going on eBay in due course.

There is also a complete close ratio Manx box with no kickstart, I'm not sure if this will be for sale though as he has a Manx that will be going to Bonhams so I will check to see if the box should be going with the bike. If it is for sale, has anyone seen on sell recently? What should I be looking for?

Thanks in advance, there may be some more questions coming up as there is a lot to be cleared!

Hi Andy,

N8030 designates a standard upright gearbox mainshaft. Length should be 8 7/8" long.

Hello Andy,

I'm looking for a mainshaft for an upright (post dolls head) gearbox.

Do you still have any N8030 shafts left? If so how much are you looking for? I'm in central Scotland.

Thanks

Regards
