Just collected my ES2 tank from paint and discussed fitting the rubber tank pads with the painter. I was expecting to use contact adhesive using the screws for positioning - he claims that if they are held on with screws the pads should be adhered to plates. Can't find any reference to plates in the books - any views?

My '51 had the pads screwed directly to the tank. The new replacements didn't fit very flat when screwed on, so I ran a bead of silicon (black) just under the edge all around, screeding off the excess with a petrol ragafter Ibound them downflat with tape, left it onfor a day till the silicon set.
