After about 10 years I finally have my 1951 ES2 up and running. Complete strip down and rebuilt myself. I took plenty of photos from many angles, but I do not have a photo of how the rear chainguard attaches to the frame near or at the plunger. Should be obvious I know, but I am missing something here. I have the parts list and illustrations for 1950, but my chain guard doesn't look exactly the same, similar but it has a stud welded pointed outwards near the plunger. Any help on how it attaches would be appreciated.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply, unfortunatley I don't have the tube, the only fixing I have appears to be a screw with its head tacked onthe inside of the chain guardwith the thread protruding out towards the plunger. I will have to take a look at my photos again and see if that jogs my memory.

HI Justin, on my '51 rear chain guard, there is a tube welded across the top (at right angles),as depicted in the parts book item T23 (E4/497) This lines up with thepinch bolt hole in the frame where the springplungermain shaftis clamped. This longbolt (around 3 3/4"long),also secures the rear mud guard stays.
