ES2 gearlever

Forums

Doesanyone know where to get a new gear lever for my 1955 ES2 with lay-down box. There's plenty available for the AMC box but not the lay-down. It's a bigger splined shaft.

Hello Duncan,I recentley have been searching for a gear lever for a laydown box,(1955),I'm sorry to say I haven't had much luck,I ordered one from RGM,they sent me the longer one from an earlier gearbox,,the one I have on the bike, from an earlier dolls head gearbox has been shortened with a new toe piece formed and welded into place and rubber fitted, the main problem I have is that it runs straight as where an original one steps out a little,I supose I could make a longer toe peg,but would much prefer an original or even repop/pattern.

SorryI cannot be of more help!

Thanks Darren, strange there's none about.....

I'll probably have to modify one of the earlier ones as you describe.

Cheers

Duncan
