The gasket set supplied by the club, SS12/D254NOR. Any one have any problems with it? I found the aluminium head gasket poorly stamped out and required considerable work with a sharp Stanley knife to make it fit over the raised edge of the barrel, the lower paper gasket likewise. The oval cork gasket for the rocker box inspection cover too big and unusable and the lower push rod tube rubber seals considerably thicker than they should be. Not impressed is there an alternative supplier? John

john.
buy yourself a set of gasket punch,s and make the base and rocker gaskets. it takes a while to get them perfect.but i then make a few spare sets. for the inspection cover i use thick rubber and again make my own which can be used over and over again.for the pushrod tube seals i use large o,rings on the bottom.and if your concerned about head for the top seals buy two fibre seals from russel motors.for the head gasket.lap it to the barrel with grinding past then use the smallest amount of welseal.i don,t do this to save money but to avoid the problems your having. i do lots of miles on my iron head es2 and my alloy head model 19 [but do use a head gasket on the alloy head].

I can't help with the alternative supplier, John, but just to say that it is very disappointing to buy stuff from a specialised club and find it doesn't fit. Up till now I have assumed that anything from the NOC was kosher and absolutely correct for the job. Very sad. George
