The chain reaction of items requiring attention continues...
The rear engine plates on my 1936 model 18 are very worn at the lower gearbox retaining bolt hole. The holes are both oval and the plates worn on the face also (I dread to think what the aluminium abutment face on the gearbox lug is like).
I'm guessing that this is a pretty regular problem to find. Obviously I can weld up holes or maybe cut the entire area off the plate and replace it, but given the time involved and the liklihood of distortion against the fairly straight-forward process to get something like this laser cut, has anyone had any of these plates made?

Hello Richard, I had a couple of sets copied for the 16h earlier this year. I don't know if i was talked out of them being laser cut due to the expence of the set up for just two sets, it wasn't worth it. The 1st set was plasma cut and my 6 year old boy could have done a neater job, they went straight in the scrap bin! The second set was better but the guy doing it went too deep into the making of them which in turn made it expensive again. So i got some plate, marked it out and set to with a junior hacksaw a drill and a couple of files and after a few hours and plenty empty beer cans i had the best set done, If you want i can explain in more detailgive me a ring on :- 07903532501, Cheers John.
