The last time I registered a "built up" bike, around 3 years ago I think it was, I did it at the local DVLA office in Northampton. The lovely people there were very helpful, even though they had all been given their redundancy notices etc. and it was all sorted that day, with the V5 arriving about ten days later.
Now I have applied via the DVLA at Swansea, as is the modern way, sending all paperwork, photo's and club dating letter and haven't heard a peep in over 4 weeks.
Does anyone have experience of the DVLA timeline on these applications? Am I expecting too much?
Paul

From past experience there…
From past experience there seems to be no urgency in dealing with the DVLA in Swansea and processing seems to take for ever.
If you are sending anything to them especially items you wish returned then make absolutely sure that it is sent recorded and signed for.

I did a bike last year and…
I did a bike last year and it took about 6 weeks to get the v5 from the DVLA.
Also they will accept copies of original documents as long as they are signed and stamped by a club official who is on the DVLA list as an approved person. I got mine endorsed at another club because it was easier but the NOC should have someone.
cheers

I will have this job to do in the coming month but I'll not be posting the green continuation log book or the last tax disc or for that matter anything that can't be replaced. They should be having local agents to deal with the checking.
