1951 ES2 sprocket sizes

Forums

My ES2 has just over 1000 miles on it since the rebuild and the engine is settling down nicely but it doesn't seem to want to pulltoo well in top gear. Can anyone confirm what size sprockets I should have? I believe the engine should be 20T but mine is 22T! I can get a new one from RGM but want to be sure before I order it.

Thanks in advance

Hello Andy, well this is something I know is correct......(hopefully)....standard 20 tooth engine is what I have on my easy2, and I find it quite OK on the flat, but slip it down a cog to 3rdin the hills, so an extra 2 tooth, particularly on the crank, would make a reasonable bit of difference to the engine revs. and pulling power.

Thanks Paul. That confirms what I thought. I'll get one ordered today andsee if itimproves the over all performance. This bike is almost everything I hoped it to be...Fingers crossedthe sprocket gets it one step closer!
