1937 Model 18 sidecar, information required

Forums

Hi,

A Spanish member has asked me to post the following request for information:-

I have a 1937 Model 18 which I am intending to fit a 1936-37 Norton Sidecar. I have some information from a 1933 catalogue which describes the sidecar:-

"built throughout in our own works" (referringto sidecars).... "well known Norton double triangulated chassis"

I have attached a picture from the catalogue and also a picture of what I have.(This will be in the next post as I can only put one picture per post).

This chassis is the single triangulated model. It has 1/4 elliptical 4 leafspringsat the rear. But it is seriously damaged in its front part ( it has been repaired and welded all together).

I need information about how the two main tubes join together in front as well as how are them braced to the motorcycle.I also would Know the distance between the centres of the rear tube ( wheel axle) and the front part.(Straight).

Has anyone got a sidecar like this ?

Would you be able to post a sketch / drawing / photograph or just words about it all goes together.

Thanks

Tony (On behalf ofJosep Maria Font Esterri. )
