16H bottom end rebuild in the North?

Forums

I need a new big end and mains on my 1942 16h. Any recommendations on a supplier in the Sheffield/Leeds/Manchester neck of the woods who can build and set the end float etc ?

Try Dave Plumb of MESS Motorcycles

Not only did he rebuild my BSA B31 crankshaft, he took me in his workshop to show me how to do it.

Another time he re-manufactured a set of girder fork links for me. The job was done quickly, at a good price and fitted perfectly.

Highly recommended.

Some Years ago I had Newton Motors of south Street Liverpool 8 replace my Model 18 big end with Alpha bearing; also, rebored cylinder back to standard by machining pressing in a wet liner from diesal and boring out to standard: Also provided replacement standard piston: I repeated this with a spare E.S 2 engine. a little later. If still in business, they were/are very reliable. Just checked on line, They are still in business in Liverpool 8. Worth asking.
