Crank assembly for 1936 18T

Forums

Hi - hoping for help to source a crank assembly (fly wheels and con rod) for my 1936 18T.

New or used. I have located three 2nd hand sets now - all cracked!

Wheels are 1" thick, 8" diameter.

Con rod is 7" centre to centre, 1" top, 2" bottom.

Also looking for "luggage clasp" for tool box.

Any help greatly appreciated

Can't help with flywheels - only that (as you probably know) the part number is the same for 18, 20 and ES2 but 16H (which I guess might be easier to find) is different.Did I read here last year that they are usually cracked at the crank pin hole? And so it follows that it's best not to look! But for the 'luggage clasp' (removed by PO for painting and never replaced) I found a small old suitcase latch that is an almost perfect fit with its tangs matching the slots in the box edges and lid. With a suitcase latch, the two surfaces aren't level so I cut an alloy spacer plate to make up the difference. It's hardly visible.Attachments
