Forums

I have a 1949 es2 plunger, i have purchased a t shape battery box but it fouls the chain guard, do i have the wrong battery box or is the fixing wrong also i now have the correct horn but cant find the correct bolt to attach it, any advice would be a great help.

Hi Graham

Looks to me as if your chainguard is sitting too high, the top run of the chain would not normally be visible. My 1950 ES2 has a rectangular battery box rather than T shape.

Hi Graham,

As said, chain-guard is much too high, but the battery bracket is the correct one. I think the original fixing was to have a rubber spacer between the bracket holes and casing. You could just use a piece of rubber petrol pipe etc. to get the right height, but don't forget the lock-nuts.
