Herefordshire on the edge

VMCC Herefordshire section are organising an event on 25th June. It is up to around 200 miles around Herefordshire. Contact Geoff McGladdery geoffmac@globalnet.co.UK for entry forms and regs. I plan to enter on my 500T as I heard good reports of last years event. Here are some details:

My wife and I did it last year. It was a good day despite the fact that it rained from noon onwards. We didn't visit every checkpoint but did visit enough to get a gold award. Amazingly we covered 183 miles just in Herefordshire! We started at 8:45 ish and finished around 6 pm.

We did it on our BMW R100 but are planning to do it again this year on our Commando. I fancied doing it on our ES2 but the other half said no way.

Hi Rod

I think we spoke at breakfast time in the Beefeater. I was wearing the Commando T shirt. We saw you out on the road a couple of times.

We visited 27 checkpoints and got a gold medal. It was an enjoyable days riding and we did 173 miles.

I made a video of our day and you appear around the 9 minute mark.

Thanks, Ian, for posting the video. I thought that it was you when we spoke at breakfast time. We thoroughly enjoyed the day but ran out of time and had to dash back from Malvern to the finish but still managed silver. I had plotted several green lanes on my route so this slowed the pace a bit. I am looking forward to next year.

My other half says we are not doing it this year but I may be able to persuade her.

What will you be riding Rod?

1936 Scott 500cc Flying Squirrel. Ian, are you doing any of the other WRRTC events? The Felix Burke is in just over a months time and is only 60 miles. I am entered.

Saw a picture of your Scott on Hereford section Facebook page. Nice bike but I wouldn't want to follow you. Cool

I have no plans to do any other events at the moment but several people from my VMCC section do the Felix Burke and rate it highly. Will give it some thought.

Ian
