Hello, A local friend who laces wheels professionally tells me that he has had issues recently with spokes from CWC...spokes too long with threaded end disappearing too far into the nipple.
Granted, these were not ES2 spokes. But since I am about to place an order for rims, spokes and nipples, I am hoping that fellow members might have recommendations or advice on the best source?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Paul, the local…
Thanks Paul, the local guys I know only deal with Central Wheel but I've seen the adverts printed in Classic Bike and other british vintage motorcycle publications. I actually need rims/spokes my ES2 and a 68 BMW too. Nothing available in Canada so ordering from the UK is the only option. I will look into Devon Rim as well.
Cheers, Grant

Hi Paul, Further to my last response...I've poked around the Devon Rims site and they look really good. Seems to be exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the lead.

I've always...
... had excellent results from CWC and their people are very helpful.

I had an ES2 wheel built with spokes from CWC, sadly I have had a number break, I'm told its because they have put the same bend on the inners and outers and compounded by the fact that they weren't butted, you can see the flex in the spokes - I should add that the issue of whether they should be butted or not was discussed with them prior to the build and they insisted theirs were correct. Anyway I'm replacing them with a set of spokes from Devon Rims who I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Veeery interesting. My British wheel-lacing expert friend tells me he has had exactly the same issue. That said, I do hear good things about them... but I'm going to give Devon a try. Devon is were my ES2 lived for most of her life before she emigrated to Canada.
Plus the Devon rims look lovely and are beautifully stamped with the Made In England as my ancient rusted rims are. Thanks for the help Dan
