NOC1 Factory Record Certificate

The Norton Owners Club has copies of the original Norton Factory Records which give details about each machine produced, provided these are shown on the ledger. The level of detail varies from year to year depending on model. If the original factory record is illegible or absent, the charge for the service will be refunded. Any data provided are for information only and could be liable to transcription error.

NOC Factory Record certificates or information are not proof of identity or specification and may not be used for licensing purposes.

You will be asked to provide:-

  • Photographs of each side of the complete machine in its current condition
  • Photographs of both the Frame No. and the Engine No.

After these have been checked,  you will be asked to provide payment for the application (Members £30, Non-Members £60).

All stampings must include the full numbers suffixes and prefixes as shown on the frame and engine. These should not be taken from the log book. Make sure you have read the frame and engine numbers correctly; failure to do so will complicate the application. It is not the policy of the NOC to confirm any numbers from the records not provided by the applicant.

In the case of non matching numbers the record will favour the frame, but the replacement Engine No. will be included

The Factory Record Certificate will be printed out on parchment paper then returned to you in a stiff cardboard envelope.

Please note - the Records Officers are very busy and it may take up to 10 days before they can reply to your application
