1960 Wideline ES2 Primary Chaincase

Forums

I have a 1960 wideline ES2 with alternator and distributor and coil ignition. Currently I don't have a primary chaincase. Could anybody tell me please how I identify the correct chaincase parts apart from the obvious bulge for the alternator? Twin cases seem to have different part numbers but I don't know what the differences are and whether they would fit. Any help / advice is very much appreciated.  Thank you.

I dont know what the differences are  but its possible that it may be where the inner case meets the single's crankcase which could be different to a twin .

....are all the same but the outers are  different. Can't imagine why. The singles use an adapter plate to fit to the inner case.

Seems to come to mind. Clearance for magneto?  Singles singles have a deeper valance and radius of clutch bulge runs into outer diameter at rear.

maybe….

Are you looking for correctness or just need to cover?

I think they will all fit with a minimal amount of modification

The single outer case has an extension at the top back to cover the gap between the inner chaincase and engine plates. The twin one will fit perfectly, it just looks a bit 'unfinished'.
