Model 7 rocker oil feed + oil pressure gauge

Forums

Just after a bit of advice. I bought my 1952 500cc twin in a large bits basket case. it's now 85% complete and I'm just putting finishing touches to it.  I have an oil tank with union and pipe on return. I plan to fit low pressure rocker feed one into two with a tee to supply my pressure gauge in tank. Do I need to do anything specific, as I was just planning on using small bore rubber hose to join oil tank union pipe to rocker feed and tee to pressure gauge pipe.

Feed to Oil Pressure gauge comes from pressure tapping below pressure relief valve on timing case and needs to be rated at 6 bar at least, if you do it the way you suggest, it will be ok, I suppose, but you will never see a pressure reading on your gauge.

I can well understand the wish to have a tank gauge  working . but as Nial says it has to be connected to the high pressure side, with proper piping to be safe. Even then it will show readings from  nil to 60 lbs  that will distract and worry you without  there being anything wrong . Thats why they were discontinued.  Keep your eyes on the road  ahead !.
