HELLO CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THERE SOUOLD BE A CLEARANCE WHEN ASSEMBLING
THE ROLLER BEARINGS INTO THE CONROD
If there was no clearance then you could not assemble, but the correct clearance is measured in microns, if you can just feel the clearance then it's in the 2 to 3 thou range and too much. The big end assembly should push in with slight resistance, if you need to wind it in then you have too little clearance.
Just wondering what the issues are with your big-end. Some recently made bearings seem to be fractionally bigger on the outer diameter of the bearing ring and when fitted to the rod can distort and cause the ring to become oval. If this should be the case, you will need to hone this circular.
I'm currently visiting the UK and would love to find a sorce for my 1964 ES2 big end at reasonable price, I only got ones that are way over 200 Pounds.
