Norton 16H 1936 Battery

Forums

Hi I have acquired a Tshaped Battery holder for the bike and I know I need a 6v Battery, can anyone suggest the Battery Make and Model that will fit it?

.. very much that you can buy an actual T shaped battery these days. But there are lots of T shaped battery casings that you can slot a modern one into. Some are better quality than others.

.. that will fit in the casing. I use sealed alarm batteries; others use Cyclon dry cells or cheap lead / acid. Get the best capacity (amp-hours) that will fit.

My bike originally had a Yuasa 6N6-3B-1 standard Lead Acid battery fitted snuggly inside the T-shaped battery box.  This battery measured 10cm Wide x 11.5cm High and 6cm Deep.

When I upgraded the electrics to 12v I then purchased an Ultra-Max sealed Lead Acid battery rated at 12v 4.5Ah. This is 9cm W x 10cm H and 7cm D and still easily fits inside the T-Box.

The latter works well but does have spade connectors.  Please don't mention this point to Al Oz.
