4 month lay-up

Hi Guys - What's the consensus of what we should do with our prized possessions for the next 3 or 4 months? Obviously drain out the oil to obviaye wet-sumping  bu what about the fule tank?

If it's drained it will get condensation. If it's left full (of E5) it will presumably do it (and the carb) a power of no good?

Any views?

121mph Model 16H racer

While looking at a completely different subject on the internet (1969 4 door Ford Falcon street car with leaf springs. Supercharged 2800hp doing a 6.72secs @ 216 mph 1/4 mile) I somehow came across this very interesting article.

Apologies if it,s already been posted recently but I,ve never seen it before. There are some great insights into the vision, amount of work and know how involved by those who have actually set out and achieved these results.

Hello Now with this covid -19 and tougher measures  in place  there will be no more branch meetings now for six months  all shows  and rides out cancelled   you and your Norton are now in lockdown  so the best thing is to drain the oil and fuel tanks  and put a dust cover over your bikes  or do your maintenance  or rebuilds now,  some my just polish their bikes  but that it for now until this is all over with but do keep up with  drinking vitium C lots of it,  that will help to keep you all in good shape and eat well  with lots of greens and veg and fruits  is a bummer but we will get throu

oils

Manx Replica - For the Road

Hi All,

I'm looking to finish off a Manx replica build I have been putting together for more years than I care to remember. As we are all sat at home twiddling our thumbs a bit I have been looking through things.

It may be that from a cost point of view I have to go down the domi racer route with a dominator motor or a single. All things being considered.

I'd like to know members opinions on how likely it is that I could get the bike registered for the road once finished, given that all parts are new and have no numbers?

Norton rear hub

Trying to find out where this hub originated from its fitted to a Valante 18x2.15 S40 alloy rim with stainless spokes

Its in my surplus to requirements box but have no idea what it’s off.  cheers

Grey face speedos???

Spent a couple of hours on trying to figure out the numbering system for the magnetic grey faced Smiths speedometers. No success. Is there anyone who can explain?

Background: I have to replace the faulty speedo ( SSM5001/04A ) on a BSA Victor Special, just get it through MOT. Could I temporary borrow the speedo ( SSM5001/01A ) from the 650SS?
