Nortons - General

I was wiping some old glue from the lovely chrome tank panels on my '57 Dominator, using paper towel and petrol.

I noticed that the areas I had wiped no longer had the beautiful high gloss finish.

I think that the paper towel contained fine sand which scratched the surface.  Does anyone have any idea how I can recover the original finish?

Hi, looking for throttle cable assembly for a 650ss to suit twin carbs.

I have a replacement frame coming in for my '58 ES2.

hello has anybody got a set of mudguards for a 1952 Norton big four as mine have rotted through . or has any body had experience with the ones that are for sale from India. there is money waiting .or any advise and help would be appreciated.

Many ,many years ago I  brush painted my 99 with a polyurethane coach paint , supplied by Groves . I still have plenty of this paint but cant remember what undercoat/primer? thinner  is needed . I suspect its an ICI product  and probably contains Zylene . Any painters out there who can advise?.

Would anyone know a source for Pliobond 20 or 25 adhesive in the UK ?

I have recently aquired a Magnesium AMC Gearbox shell,

Im assuming its a Quaife but also came with a "Petty PGT" Front cover so im not sure, I know Summerfield made the boxes for Petty but dont recall seeing a Manesium one

I have an assortment of gears and shafts that I need to go through but in the mean time curious if anyone has any 5/ 6 speed gear sets, shafts etc lying about? complete or loose.

Can anyone explain the numbers stamped on the rear of the crankcase? Just around from where the engine number is. It begins with the letter 'T'.  Here is a picture 

Can someone tell me the best ball valves (8mm) to go in the oil tank feed to the engine in most of these old British twins - to prevent wet sumping?  Thank you.

My first time rebuilding a 1967 Atlas motor. Have rebuilt a number of Triumph and Enfield engines and each of these have “must do” mods to overcome original design flaws, upgraded seals, bearings, oil pumps etc.

Are there any must do mods for an Atlas engine ?
