NOC Riders Section

Description

This is an area dedicated to those interested in the first of the NOC's 'Special Interest Groups' and is called the NOC Riders Section. The NOCRS will support NOC Members who enjoy riding longer distances!

commando featherbed

I am new to this club so apologies if this has been discussed before, I am thinking of putting an 850 engine in a 1960 featherbed wideline frame, what sort of money would get me an engine, I will strip it and work as necessary, I have read various bits on doing this and 1 seems to be re balancing the engine, any help and advice on this would be great, what are your general thoughts on doing this.i am not trying to do a triton with clip on's etc. I prefer to be sat up a bit. I have some forks with twin disc callipers that may be able to be used from the early 90s, more homework on this.

Begonia Rally Weekend

I suppose that I'm feeling a little maudlin this evening. The summer has passed with no proper motorcycle gatherings and this weekend would have been the last big summer party...The Flanders Branch's "Begonia Rally". My first was '86 and coincided with the NOC's first ever International Rally.

Nortons in the Welsh Hills

If you fancy a first rate burger, a ride-out on the Norton and you're within striking distance of North Wales, I would highly recommend The Rhug Estate ( www.rhug.co.uk ). Paul, Russ and I, regulars at the Shropshire Branch, descended on it earlier this month - three Double Angus Burgers with fried onions and three mugs of tea! They also do Bison burgers. Outdoor tables, great views, toilets and dedicated motorcycle parking. LL21 0EH off the A5 between Betws-y-Coed and Llangollen.

Norton Manual on eBay

I'm interested in this:

Unfortunately they do not deliver to Switzerland. It would be great if one of the fellow members in the UK could buy it and forward it to me.

Insurance Rip-Off

Just received my Bike Insurance renewal from Carol Nash. Last year the policy price was £425 which included an expensive mid-year adjustment to include a third bike. This year they want £550 for the same three bikes. That is roughly a 30% increase. The previous two years each saw a 25% increase which I was able to negotiate down to 10%. I have an unblemished 'no-claims' record and would like to know how they justify the price they are demanding.

Has anybody got a suggestion to get a better deal for two Classic Nortons and a four year old  Honda NC750?

Norton navigator

Hi i wondering if my dads Norton Navigator is still about. He bought it new in 1961 i think. Full fairing model  as attached picture shows, with reg number 183 LYC.

If anybody could help to find the bike or just send some picture, it would bring back so many good memory's for my dad.

Kind Regards

Chris
