Light Twins

Planning ahead for an inevitable need for a rebore for my Electra in near future and with NOS pistons rather than hens teeth I have a set of new +20 thou Hepolite pistons but my bores are already +30 thou.

The brackets for the coil are located in 1/4" Cycle nuts trapped under a folded bracket. This is fine for the smaller twins but a real pain with the Electra's stiffening brackets as you can't get a spanner on the nut.

As we all know, timing the lightweights using markings on the alternator rotor and a pointer on the stator is the usual method advised.

Time for me to check the torque setting of my head nuts, but I don't have the right socket for the job.  Can someone advise please what size should I be getting?  I assume I'll need a thin wall socket as clearance is tight.

I read the recent topic on the Lightweight forum titled "New Pistons' and in passing a couple of posts (from John and Philip) hint at 500cc projects.  What sort of crazy alchemy is that,... and how do I get some??!

Dear all, looking at future maintenance needs of my Electra I have spent some time looking for NOS pistons but with no luck from all the usual.sources.   The only pistons I can find are modern manufacturer JP Pistons and rings made in Australia. 

Can anyone tell me which is the correct spring for my 1960 jubilee ? I ordered one from club spares ( 22408 ) not sure how it fits . I also have the spring hook . 

Hi. My Navigator gearbox had all the usual leaks when I purchased the bike. I have now cured all the leaks except the kick starter shaft. I replaced the original o ring set up with a square section seal, but it's still leaking badly.

From pictures I have seen, Electras of that vintage all appeared to have a black frame and tubes and sheet metal was either 2 tone, silver or black.  Mine has chrome fenders and an odd green colour on the sheet metal and tank.
