My son's A10 dynamo doesn't seem to be able to hold any residual magnetism in the field coil.
Hi all, is the left hand pickup on the left side of the magneto looking from the drive side ? and does the left lead go to the drive or timing side of the cylinder head ?
The bike is 12V positive earth from when I got it and I have already upgraded to a an Al Osborn A Reg 1 solid state regulator, stripped the carbs, ultrasonic cleaned them and fitted new jets throughout and fitted a longer kick start lever.
My 500 Dominator is normally a sweet-running bike. It has suddenly developed a bad stutter, and also loud bangs on the over-run. I think the issue is magneto rather than carburation.
I have been searching for a new wiring loom for my '54 Dominator 88, but can not find one prior to the '55 model. Since there are only a few differences, between the two years, are the '54 & '55 the same?,
I have just put my 2A Commando back together having replaced front and rear Isolastics amongst other things. On Friday I got it back together and it started first kick - but the AO red light didn't go out.
In the course of much head scratching whilst trying to establish the cause of the fuse blowing problem, I have focussed my attention on the light switch and cannot reconcile the wiring of the switch as fitted with the wiring diagram.
I have recently acquired a magneto ignition 1962 650SS (151BJW) which seems to have appeared in a couple of magazine articles in the past Real Classic issue 163 November 2017 and Classic Bike Guide January 2024.
a have a 6v cyclon battery that has been around for god knows how many years and has never needed charging ! , I am going to fit to a little old italian bike.
