I have a 1936 Norton ES2 and need a rear drive chain.(I don't have the original to measure).I've done some searching and found both the 5/8x3/8 and the 5/8x1/4 for sale.
Does anyone know which size is correct for my bike? The number of links would also be useful.
ThanksAled

It should be 5/8 x 1/4, but it would be worth measuring the width of the sprockets first incase they've been changed over the years.
If you measure the distance between the centres of the sprockets, count the number of teath and know the pitch of the chain (5/8), you can work out the number of links needed. A Google search will bring up a calculator to do it all for you, or contact a chain supplier and give them the info to work it out for you.
Regards
Andy
