Please tell me how I open up the vernier isolastic mounts to clean them up and replace the rubber gaiters without lowering the engine.
Simple terms please.

The front mount can be removed from the bike and maintained on the bench, rear will need the engine/gearbox raised until the tube in the rear mount bis clear of obstruction.

The stand is mounted on the engine/gearbox plates.
I think I must use a jack to lift the engine sufficiently to get access to the isolastics.

From memory it should certainly be possible to prop up the engine/gearbox assembly separately from the chassis in such a way that the mounting studs can be partially withdrawn on each side in turn.
Theprecise method will depend on whether you have the centre stand mounted on the gearbox plates or the frame.
