I see Paul Norman sells valve stem lash caps. I'm replacing my valves and guides. I wonder if caps are worthwhile? Mine are both dented. Exhaust more than inlet. I've no idea of their origin. New ones will be G&S. If i am to use caps, valve stems might need shortening, so I'll probably not add them

Valves, seats, stems, rockers all wear or are "cleaned up/ re cut" over time. Check your midpoint lift against your contact angle. You may win something back.
