Hello all,

I have just taken apart my rear plunger units on my 1949 ES2 and wish to check with anyone who knows which way the springs go in - heavy thicker ones at the top or bottom? cheers Glenn

Hello Glenn,

Just to confirm that the heavier/stronger spring isrefitted to the top, I have attached an image of an extractfrom the 'Pitmans Book of the Norton' which shows the correct way to reassemble the 1938-52 plungers, please click the link below.

Thanks Karl, I have that picture in my manual but I don't have the accompanying description that you have provided - strange that. I suspected the heavier springs went at the top but wanted to be sure. Great photos also. Cheers Glenn
