To avoid oil drips from the breather pipes particularly when parked I have fitted an aluminium catch tank behind the gearbox on my 1956 Dommie 99. It is fastened securely between the gearbox plates via slotted legs and is easily removed if required. There is an oil drain at the rear of the catch tank. The tank is made from extruded rectangular box section.

Primary chain adjusting nut........
Hi Robert, I was also in the midst of fitting a primary belt drive hence the loose nut and the drive chain is oily. Multi tasking I guess.

Good luck with the belt drive, When I hear the tales of woe ,I am convinced I will never fit one. That Norton is far too clean, hurry up and get some miles in. See you out there.

Being a racer, I use the racing fraternity preferred ty-raps and a brake fluid bottle. Most problems solved with duct tape and cable ties.
