I need to get a set of cover screws for my Norton Laydown box at Kempton on Saturday, do any of you know the correct form/sizes for a full set? I think they may be whitworth, but not sure. I also need to get a full set for the timing case to crank case, and outercover, would any of you know what I need for that area too?

Thanks.

The screws are all 1/4" diameter and either cheese head of fillister head slotted. if the thread looks like a coarse one, they will be B.S.W., if it looks fine they will be C.E.I. Measure length with digital calipers.

You shouldn't need the originals. You should be able to measure the depth of the through holes in the gearbox and timing covers with the depth measurer on the calipers, and then allow another 1/2" to thread into the cases. Try threading 1/4 - 20 UNC screws into the threads. If they will screw in the threads are BSW, if they won't the threads are Cycle (CEI).
