Norton Dominator 99

Forums

Hi on my Dominator 99 i seem to be missing a part from behind the stator to hold it in place? can any one confirm what is missing and what it is called.

i have attached a photo of what i believe it to be? but also i've seen pictures if some mounted on studs?

Any help in identifying would be great, i have looked in the manuals but i can't see any diagrams with engines showing a stator and rotor system.

The stator mounting as shown in your illustration should be screwed directly to the drive side crankcase by 3 countersunk allen bolts. The stator itself is then held to the mounting by 3 studs and nuts.

Thank you for your advise any idea where I can get the mount from?

Ian, most of the main suppliers will have stator mounts, RGM for example where I bought my last one. There is one on US fleebay for sale too but if you have no luck I should be able to find one for you.

Fritz has a point, but if using Word when sending to a large community I always find it best to send out on Word 97-2003, even people on the newer version can open that.

Good Luck.

I've believe there are different stator fixing studs. It depends on the year. Part# 20691 for 1961, 21433 for 1962. The later is, I believe, from 1962 on for all Domies and Atlas.

Have a look here https://nortonmotors.de/en (search for ?stator stud?) you should ask Joe Seiffert which is the correct one for your bike.

Fritz
