Hi everyone I have just joined and would like to make my presence known I have today bought what has been described as a late fifties dominator 99 which is 95% complete but in bits with a lot of solid original tinware that I will not be using as I intend to go cafe racer and maybe even triton so original tinware and maybe engine and transmission will be available shortly I should get it home this week and will work out what will be sold to hopefully finance some bits I want so if anyone needs what I might have please get in touch and I will help if I can

Hi Christopher and welcome to the club. If I were you, I wouldn't rush to get rid of the original bits - you may find a few years down the road that you might just want it after all. There are loads of owners who turned their bikes into cafe racers and are now kicking themselves for not keeping the original stuff. Gordon.

Hello a Welcome to our club Well has a experienced owner and rider of Norton and other makes of motorcycles for over 40 years, I have rebuilt motorcycles and the original looking Norton are now some what thin on the ground , the original tin ware is next to impossible too get hold of and I can tell you a Triton not all its cracked up too be , a Norton engine is a far better design of engine to a Triumph had most Triumph get hot at the top end has they do suffer from poor cylinder head cooling and there bottom ends are not much stronger than any other british machine , the only reason that the Triton's came about was the cheaper parts from triumph , but Triumph did not have a frame that handled has good has the Featherbed frame , some guys in the mid 60s put the two too getter to build a 650 triton ,its was the cheaper 650 engine they were after, But too me there dog of a motorcycle Hienz 57 of every thing , but if you have a pure bread Norton Like the Model 99 they were one of the most best bike around in there time, guys I know have worked on them and done some real madgic on these machine and made them has fast or even faster than any Triton even in standard looks, Has for the Model 88 de-lux a good friend of mine has re-biult one in Sweden he loves his machine he has re-built and says it was well worth doing ,its made a lovey motorcycle too ride , so if I were you I would Have a good re-think, yours Anna J Dixon

Your quickest route to a Triton is to buy any oil-in-frame Triumph. They are very cheap now. I have seen people use those forks and wheels also on a Triton.

BUT... be sure you like the look of the resulting bike; the unit Triumph motor looks odd in the slimline frame. Way too much engine plate.

The desirable Triton project is the one in this photo but it would take you many years to accumulate the parts.

I had a Tr*ton back in 88 but turned it into a poor man's Manx six year ago.

Much more street cred!
