I have put a new bearing into the clutch sprocket. When I went to align the face of the clutch sprocket with the engine sprocket I noticed that is was 'wobbly'. The centre is rigid though on the mainshaft spline. I didn't take any notice before I took it off. Is this correct. If so then surely it makes a mockery of using a straight edge to align both sprockets?
Mike They all wobble a bit…

I know very little about Bendies but on the std Dommy clutch there is plenty of wobble when the clutch is lifted. This can get out of hand if there is wear or poor parts. I have reduced mine by fitting some oversize rollers which has improved the clutch action. I don't see why a sloppy clutch is necessary .

You need a "one dot" or "C2 deep groove ball race" in that location. Anything else will probably work but will be slack. Where did the new bearing come from?

Clutch centre bearing is from Andover Norton

Mike
They all wobble a bit, a closer tolerance bearing will reduce the movement, First fit the plates and the spring then try the straight edge.
