Mk 3 Interpol Fairing Parts

Forums

Hello all,

I am new to this forum, having recently bought a very tired and criminally abused Mk 3 Roadster. I am not completely new to the NOC, having been a member between 1979-85 when I had a Mk 3 and again from 1998 for several years when I bought an Atlas.

My question here is not strictly about the Mk 3 itself, but about parts for an Avon/CLP manufactured fairing that was fitted to some of the late Mk 3 Interpols; tailored specifically for the Mk 3. The fairing was made in three sections and had pronounced scallops on the front between the flat mounted Lucas indicators and the headlamp, and was used in particular by the Norfolk Constabulary and Greater Manchester Police. The question might be considered more appropriately located in the Wanted section, but I thought I would ask here as it is more than a simple Wanted ad.

What I am trying to locate, either to buy or rent/borrow to copy, are the left and right hand fibreglass lower sections for the Avon/CLP 3-piece fairing that attach with screws and nuts to the upper fairing. I do have the more complicated main upper fairing (fortunately), but if I cannot find any lower sections, I will have to resort to trying to remake them from photographs, which would be pretty tricky, not least given their compound curves. With loaned items, I could ask Mitchenall Bros to replicate them, which would not damage or alter them at all, except maybe being polished.

Brackets for the fairing are also required. I think I could make some from memory, but it would obviously be easier to buy some or have examples to copy. In fact, I would happily buy a complete fairing if anyone has one?

Similarly, I need the deep valanced, white fibreglass Mk 2 and Mk 3 Interpol front mudguard - the one with integral moulded fork slider brackets and just the tubular steel lower stay (not the earlier one with the upper and lower stay. Again, I would happily buy or rent/borrow one to get a new one made.

So, please does anyone have any of the above parts that they would be prepared to either sell or loan, or know of anyone who might? Any help would appreciated more than you might imagine.

Regards,

Andy

Mike,

Sorry, the photo is a bit cropped, but it shows both the fairing and mudguard reasonably clearly; just the back edge of the lower panel is not shown, but it only and or two is missed off.

Hopefully this photo, if it appears okay (the resolution was reduced to post) explains better than words what I am looking for - to buy ideally, or to borrow to use as patterns.

Regards,

Andy
